SNAP Workshop

The purpose of the 2-day workshop is to enable participants to understand, comprehend and use SNAP in the future within their organization.

Reading the Assessment Practices Manual (The APM) and attending this workshop, the participants will be able to pass the SNAP certification test and become a Certified SNAP Professional – CSP

The workshop includes:

  • Introduction to SNAP
  • How SNAP is defined and works
  • Relations between SNAP and non-functional characteristics (ISO/IEEE 9126, 25010)
  • The Software Non-functional Assessment Process
  • SNAP Categories and Sub-categories
  • Counting FP and SNAP Points – guidelines
  • Case studies – exercises
  • SP calculations for different project types
  • Implementing SNAP in your organization
  • New features in APM 2.1

The workshop will include 3 to 5 case studies, in which students are required to use the APM and identify the categories and sub-categories, and calculate their SNAP size.

TalmonBenCnaanTalmon Ben-Cnaan. Chair of the IFPUG Non-Functional Sizing Standards Committee (NFSS), one of the authors of SNAP and a SNAP specialist, Talmon Ben-Cnaan is a Quality manager at Amdocs. He led the quality measurements in his company, responsible for collecting and analyzing software measurements from software development projects and providing Quality reports to senior management, based on measurements. The author was also responsible for implementing Function Points in his organization. He is an IFPUG member and a PMP. Currently Talmon manages Quality operations in the Acceptance Testing division. The Acceptance Testing division comprises of 1,500 testing experts, located at more than 30 sites worldwide, and specializing in testing for Telecommunication Service Providers.

Language: The workshop will be in English with live translation to Portuguese and vice-versa.
